Walking Through Life God’s Way

We live in a day where everything seems to be required ‘instantly’ whether it be our food, service, wealth, pleasure or gratification. However, as we shall see, the Bible describes our Christian life in terms of a walk (but certainly not a ‘walk in the park’!).
Walking requires taking one step at a time. We are called to become ‘Christlike’ and this is a process that goes on over a whole lifetime; we are indeed a work in progress. There is no such thing as instantaneous sanctification. We can’t just get someone to pray for us and wham! all of a sudden we become so holy and saintly. No, we are transformed one step at time as we learn to walk in the ways God requires of us as we are guided along by the Holy Spirit through the Holy Scriptures.

Here are some of the ways we are told to ‘walk’ (live out our daily lives) in the Bible:

Walk in the Spirit

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Walk in unity

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call – one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
