Do Everything for the Glory of God

“God wants all your life, not just one hour a week.” R C Sproul.

Imagine you went home to your partner/spouse and told them the good news, “I’ve booked a two week holiday.” Your other half get all excited and asks, “Where are we going?” To which you reply, “We are not going anywhere, it’s just me! You see I need to just get away from you and have a break for a wee while.”

How hurtful would that be!

Well, think about it for a moment. When we gaily go about “our” daily business not giving any time or thought to our Lord. How hurtful do you think that this must be for Him?

I’ve also heard that some ministers like to take a complete day off, from “business” and do something totally ‘un-spiritual’ like playing playing golf or squash or something else just to have a day off and ‘complete rest’.

No, I think we should be one hundred percent committed to our Lord and in everything we do we should do it for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

A relationship with the Lord is like when you are madly in love with another person; you just can’t stop thinking about them all day long.

We live in perilous and dark days that are increasingly getting darker and darker. Now is not the time to slacken off. On the contrary, it’s time to be really, totally committed to doing the will of God.

The apostle Paul had that commitment that is needed by us today:

“For me to live is Christ….” (Philippians 1:21)
